What this is
Paper Terminal is a browser extension for practising trades with virtual money. It places a practice panel over the Buy/Sell panel on fomo.family and records what you would have bought or sold, priced from live public market data.
Nothing here is real. No wallet is connected, no order reaches any exchange or blockchain, and no money moves. Balances, positions and profit or loss are simulated. Paper Terminal is not a broker, exchange, wallet or financial adviser, and nothing it shows is financial advice.
Paper Terminal is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to fomo.family or its operators. Product names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to describe what this tool works with.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older to use Paper Terminal. You confirm your age once, when you set up your practice account, and that confirmation is stored with the date. If you are under 18, do not use this extension.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the extension, write to us and the account and its data will be deleted.
Privacy policy
What is collected
| Data | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Google account identifier, email address, name and profile picture | To sign you in and keep your practice history attached to you | The Paper Terminal server set in Settings |
| Username and profile picture you choose | Shown in the extension and on any P&L card you export | The Paper Terminal server |
| Practice trades, positions, balances and the tokens you viewed while trading | To keep your practice portfolio and history, and to work out your trading style | The Paper Terminal server |
| Your age confirmation and acceptance of these terms, with dates and version | To show the rules were accepted | The Paper Terminal server |
| Extension settings (panel on or off, presets, price display, discreet mode) and your sign-in token | To make the extension behave the way you set it | Your browser, in extension storage |
What is never collected
- Wallet private keys, seed phrases or recovery phrases. The extension never asks for them and has no ability to sign anything.
- Your fomo.family login or password.
- Your browsing history. The extension only runs on fomo.family pages, and only reads the token shown on the page you have open.
- Payment details. Paper Terminal is free and takes no payments.
Who it is shared with
Your data is not sold, rented or shared for advertising. It is not used to train machine-learning models. It reaches other parties only in these ways:
- Google — when you sign in, to verify your identity. See Google's own privacy policy.
- Market data providers — DexScreener, GeckoTerminal and Jupiter receive the token addresses being priced, and the network address of the Paper Terminal server. They do not receive your identity or your trades.
- Legal requirements — if the law requires disclosure.
Where the server is
The extension talks to the Paper Terminal server address shown in Settings. By default that is a server on your own computer, in which case your practice data never leaves your machine. If you point it at a hosted server, the operator of that server holds the data described above.
How long it is kept
Your account and practice history are kept until you delete them. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. Deleting your account removes everything immediately, as described under Export & deletion.
Your choices
- See and export everything, as JSON or CSV, from the Style tab or Settings.
- Correct your username and picture in Settings.
- Delete your account and all of its data from Settings, at any time.
- Withdraw the extension's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Ask us anything about your data using the contact address below.
Depending on where you live you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to a data protection authority. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for handling your data is performance of the agreement between us (running the account you asked for), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Security
Sign-in tokens are stored as hashes, requests are restricted to this extension, and the server refuses connections from other websites. No system is perfect; if you find a security problem, please report it to the contact address rather than posting it publicly.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the version at the top of this page changes and you are asked to accept the new version before trading again.
Google user data
Paper Terminal's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- The only Google data requested is your basic profile: identifier, email address, name and picture.
- It is used solely to sign you in and label your practice account.
- It is not transferred to anyone else except as needed to provide the extension, or where the law requires.
- It is not used for advertising, and it is not sold.
- Humans do not read it, except with your permission for support, for security reasons, or where the law requires.
Terms & conditions
1. Agreement
By installing or using Paper Terminal you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, remove the extension.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter this agreement. You confirm your age during setup.
3. What the extension does
Paper Terminal simulates trades at live public prices. It never places a real order, never connects a wallet, and never moves funds. Simulated results assume your order fills at the quoted price and cannot account for real-world liquidity, slippage, fees, delays or failed transactions. Practice results do not predict real results.
4. Not financial advice
Nothing in the extension is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Trading digital assets carries a high risk of losing everything you put in. Decisions you take with real money are yours alone.
5. No affiliation
Paper Terminal is independent of fomo.family and of every market data provider it reads. It is not endorsed by them. Their names are used only to say what this tool works with. You are responsible for following the terms of any website you use the extension on.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- present simulated results as real trades in order to mislead anyone, including by using the shared P&L card or discreet mode;
- use the extension to break the law, or the rules of any site it runs on;
- attack, overload or probe the service, or attempt to reach another person's account;
- resell the extension or pass it off as your own.
Discreet mode removes the word "paper" from the on-page panel for a cleaner look. It does not change what the extension does: every fill stays simulated, and you must not use that mode to present simulated results as real.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the username, picture and notes you add. You give us only the permission needed to store and display them inside the extension for you.
8. Availability
The extension and its market data are provided as they are, with no promise of uptime, accuracy or fitness for any purpose. Market data comes from third parties and may be delayed, wrong or missing. Features may change or be withdrawn.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop at any time by deleting your account and removing the extension. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if the service is discontinued.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Paper Terminal and its developer are not liable for any trading loss, lost profit, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the extension. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR COUNTRY OR REGION], and its courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
12. Changes
Material changes raise the version at the top of this page, and you will be asked to accept them before trading again.
Storage & cookies
Paper Terminal sets no cookies. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking pixel and no third-party script in the extension. Because of that there is no cookie banner to click.
It does keep a small amount of data on your own device, all of it needed for the extension to work at all:
| Stored item | Purpose | Cleared when |
|---|---|---|
session | Your sign-in token and the name and picture shown in the header | You sign out, or after 30 days |
settings | Server address, panel on/off, discreet mode, buy and sell presets, price display, dust filter | You remove the extension |
portfolioVersion | A timestamp so open windows refresh after a trade | You remove the extension |
This storage is what privacy law calls strictly necessary, so it does not require consent. If analytics or any non-essential storage is ever added, this page will change and you will be asked first.
Export & deletion
Export
Open the side panel, go to Style, and download your full history as JSON or your trades as CSV. Settings offers the same download.
Delete your account
Open the side panel, click your profile picture, choose Settings, then Delete account and data. This removes your profile, every practice account, all trades, positions, history and sessions from the server straight away. It cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.
You can also email the address below from your account's email address and ask for deletion. Removing the extension alone does not delete server-side data.
